The Imprimerie Nationale Group
Former directorate of the Department for the Budget, I.N. SA Ltd. was founded under the law of 31 December 1993, and was granted the monopoly for the production of secure document.
Commission Regulation of 20, July 2005 ensured that the monopoly was legally separated from the company’s competitive activities (see IN Continuous printing and Services). 100% State-owned, INSA is the Imprimerie National’s parent company.
- L’INCS
Commission Regulation of 20, July 2005 ensured that the monopoly was legally separated from the company’s competitive activities (see IN Continuous printing and Services). INCS is owned 100% by IN SA and was founded in July 2007. It handles the Imprimerie Nationale’s competitive activities.
- Chronoservices
The French Department of Transport commissioned Chronoservices (a subsidiary of the Imprimerie Nationale) to manufacture, issue and manage the four smart cards associated with the electronic tachograph. The delegation contract between the Department of Transport and the company was drawn up on 4 September 2002 for a ten-year term. Working in collaboration with social partners and ministries, ChronoServices oversees the technical, legal and organisational aspects of the system.
Chronoservices’ mandate meets the security, trust and quality requirement of European Regulations.
ChronoServices supports drivers, transport companies, workshops and inspection authorities from day one (the initial card request) and throughout the card’s life.
